HOW IT WORKS
Start small. Keep a record. Come back ready.
- Download and install. Run the Windows installer and open Project Vault. The app uses Microsoft WebView2; installation may need an internet connection if it is missing.
- Create your first project. Give it a name, description and category. Set its status, priority and progress.
- Add the next few tasks. Turn an idea into manageable steps. Add due dates when they are useful.
- Collect the context. Write notes, add build logs, link files and resources, and record project costs.
- Update as you go. Mark task progress, record what you learned and archive completed work so you retain its history.
Example: building a custom controller
Create a controller project, add tasks for the enclosure, wiring and testing, then save the wiring guide as a link. Record the cost of switches and write a log after each test. Next time you open the project, your notes and remaining tasks are in the same place.
Before you download
Where is my project data stored?
Project Vault stores project records in a local SQLite database on your computer. This release has no cloud sync or built-in backup/export. Back up the app data separately. Attached files remain in their original locations; moving or deleting them can break their references. Keep cover images in your Windows Pictures folder so they remain available after restarting the app.
Do I need an account or subscription?
No. This download is free and the app does not require an account. Your project records are stored locally.
Does it work offline?
You can manage your local project records without a cloud connection. Downloads, installing a missing WebView2 runtime and opening external web links need an internet connection.
Which computers can run it?
This download is for 64-bit x64 Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers. A Mac, Linux or native Windows ARM installer is not included.
Why might Windows show a warning?
This early installer is not digitally signed, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Check the download source and the SHA-256 checksum before deciding whether to run it.
Can I report a problem?
Yes. Report an issue on GitHub and include what you were doing and what happened. Avoid including private project information.
